BROKEN BEACH / PASIH UUG NUSA PENIDA HIGHLIGHT

Broken Beach, also known as Pasih Uug in the Balinese name, located on island of Nusa Penida has big natural pool, with about a hundred meters in diameter, created by sea abrasion and collapsed limestone hill in million years ago. This hole has 98 meter in diameter and offering unique and scenic view. Incredible views like heaven on earth where in a middle of a cliff there is a circular hole and tunnels that penetrate directly to the sea, with breathtaking views of the ocean and the cliffs. Pasih Uug or Broken Beach is located right upon the indian ocean with a large hole in the middle of the cliff. Because of the natural processes, this large hole slowly full with the sea water that enters through the cliff gap. At first, the cliff gap was a cave door. However, the cave base was naturally destroyed, therefore the leak of sea water or the abration causes larger gap. Currently Broken Beach looks like a natural gate under a cliff and become a landmark of this island. Uniquely, the entrance of sea water from the gap under the cliff actually makes it look like a natural bridge between both cliffs. It is very recommended to take a picture of Broken Beach from above, so the beauty will hypnotize you.

Broken Beach tourist attraction is very instagramable. If you are lucky when visiting Broken Beach in the afternoon before the dark, you will spot a group of dolphins or manta rays that swim on the surface of the blue sea near the cliffs.

HOW TO GET THERE

The easiest option for getting to Broken Beach take ferry from Sanur port or Padang Bai in Bali. The ferry ride takes approximately 30 to 45 minutes from Sanur, but taking around 2 hours to reach the island from Padang Bai. There are 3 ports on the island so your landing depends on the location of the port. The nearest port to go to Broken Beach is Banjar Nyuh port. You can use the vehicle or scooter approximately a 25-minute drive away. The internet connection is not very good, along the way we can ask local people if you feel wrong way.

ENTRANCE FEE

When you arrived, need pay for parking fee of around IDR 5.000 - IDR 10.000 for those who arrived by vehicle. At several tourist spots, local people create tourist attractions and charge for taking photos. Many tourists complain that the road facilities to get there are damaged, but it all takes time to change for the better.
